On A Whim...

I have to share with you all one of the most delightful shops
I've been to in some time.

On A Whim is located in the quaint little town of Lucketts, Va.

From the moment you turn into the drive,
you just know this is going to be a fun shop!
How can any girl resist anything pink and polka dotted!

Donna is the owner of this shopper's paradise.
Since the age of 5, Donna dreamed and planned for
this romantic, funky, pink polka-dot shop.

Displays are artfully arranged and are an absolute feast for the eyes!
I just fell in love with this ethereal ceiling treatment.

Such beautiful, classic white furniture.
The tall, white dresser on the right is so dreamy!

I would have loved to bring that white hutch home with me
but space is extremely limited in a teeny tiny little cottage!

Everywhere you look, there is some treasure just waiting for
a good home.

No wasted space here, even this little cupboard under the
stairs (a la Harry Potter) houses these small beauties.

Love the arched window.

So much to take in.
Isn't that a sweet little desk?

I'm diggin' the green ladder and the plaid chair and ottoman.

What would you do with the ram's head?
I think it'd be a bit of unexpected fun on a garden wall or fence.

Pink is my signature color (and Donna's).
Can you name that movie?

So many goodies, I wish I had a bigger car
and an even bigger bank account!

Lovin' the blue dressers and the pretty little floral lamp.

We've come to the end of the tour.
I wish I had more pictures to share for there are actually
a few more buildings to shop on this property,
but alas, the lighting wasn't good for pictures.
On A Whim also has another building attached to
the main shop, just stuffed to the gills with
gorgeous vintage clothing, hats and handbags.
If you live near the D.C. area, you must make a trip
out to On A Whim!
If you're within a days drive or even two, it's totally
worth it.  There is so much to see and explore in this
neck of the woods, not to mention
The Old Lucketts Store (click here for a peak),
totally swoon worthy!

Also, please be sure to check out On A Whim's blog
for more shop info and lots more eye candy!
How da ya like that pink and black polka-dot silo?
Pretty awesome!

Have a happy Saturday!

Lucketts Part III ~ The Old Lucketts Store

Ok, the wait is over!
The Old Lucketts Store is just amazing!
I have lots of pictures, so I'll keep the text to
a minimum.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the show!

There is not an inch of wasted space in this shop!

Isn't that pillow adorable, such a cute idea!

I love how they pull everything together and it
looks so effortless!

Those giant candlesticks are pretty awesome!

A vintage crib and fishing nets, who'd have thought?

I love blue and that dressing table is absolutely fabulous!

Great idea, turning a dresser mirror into a chalk board.

This lamp is so clever!

The second floor, just beautiful!

Can I move in?

Isn't this ceiling treatment amazing!

Love all the salvaged stained glass windows.

I think this was the third floor.
Yup, three floors of wonderfulness!

Yes, there's more.
They have all of these pavilions outside for
dealers to rent.

Sandi and I just loved these tiny
garden "sheds".
There were several of them around the
property, each one made from salvaged
materials and decorated so sweetly.

I wish I could have fit one in my car
 to bring home!

Don't ya just love salvaged "junk"!

It looks like a little shanty town.
Miss Mustard Seeds Pavilion is at the end,
on the left.

She was wiped out clean here too!

So much fun!  Sandi and I couldn't take it all in
the first day so we came back and walked
through it all again!
I can't wait to go back next year!

Hope you enjoyed the tour!

Lucketts Part II ~ The Marvelous Miss Mustard Seed

Hello,
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
I know I've taken forever to post all of my Lucketts pictures,
but I thought I'd share with you Miss Mustard Seed's booth.

Miss Mustard Seed, Marian Parsons is the Queen of
furniture re-finishing, painting and re-upholstery.
By the way, do you see that antique french grain sack pillow
on the chair, that now resides on a big comfy over-stuffed chair
in my family room!

Now, I took all of these pictures towards the end of the first day.
I wanted to see Miss Mustard Seed's booth first but we couldn't find it.
Marian was nearly wiped out of all her merchandise by the time we got there!
To see pictures of her booth before the droves of customers picked it clean,
Isn't that blue and white dresser gorgeous!

I would have loved that little blue table with those curvy legs!

And these twin bed frames, just adorable!
More beautifully painted dressers, she is just amazing!
This dining set was already sold, sorry it's not a better picture!
In the background are Marian's Mom and Dad, they were so sweet.
During my conversation with them, we came to find out that we both
knew this wonderful couple who live part-time in my home town of Brevard.
Such a small world!

I wish I had room for that boucherie sign in my home!

The marvelous Miss Mustard Seed on the left.
Marian was so kind and sweet, it was lovely to meet her in person!
If you've never visited her blog, be sure to click here,
you will not be disappointed!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
